I just installed Windows XP including all the new drivers (4n1 and AGP from Via, 21.83 from Nvidia) in my 700mhz Duron, MSI KT7 Pro2a (non-turbo) with a TNT2 V770 ultra Diamond graphics card. I can not get Lucas Arts X-Wing alliance to run. When I run the Direct X diagnostics, it gives me an error when attempting DirectX8 functions. Any idea what might be wrong? The driver always comes up TNT2/TNT2 Pro, but my card is an Ultra. When trying to run Comanche 4, it would not use the graphcis card because T&L is not supported. Is this a driver error, or does the card really not support this? I couldn't find an answer when I looked through the users manual. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

tnl is not supported by pre-gf1 cards, of which the tnt2 and tnt2u are included. cant really help you with x-wing, but do you know if it works in winxp? and about the card coming up as a tnt2/tnt2pro, that is normal with the diamond card. if i remember correctly, they didnt follow the standard for identifing their card in the vid. bios or something like that.

Yes, the game does work. Someone recently e-mailed me and said that his friend got it to work without any difficulty with a TNT2 card. Unfortunately, he never responded to more indepth questions about his set-up, but it can work.
