OP - best of luck in finding a replacement. I'm sure the whole experience following the fire wasn't enjoyable, but here is to getting a (great) car to replace it that you like.

Sorry about your experience man 🙁 Farmers was quick to pay out my GF's (now wife) totaled car, and didn't hesitate when we mentioned we had extras on top of the trim level she had. Very painless.

Well we got our money recently...finally. I might be working a deal for a beautiful '06 first edition(blue w/ white stripes) coupe. The gentleman loves his cars and is trying to decide if he can part with it, he should be calling me today.

The WRX insurance cost is going to be high with all the kids getting them. I suppose the price isn't too high overall though. -$15K price for a 2015 is very tempting.

15k for what? Was that a typo? The '15 wrx is about 25k to start. Still a good car for the money.

But yeah... the insurance on my evo is about the same as my stingray. Kinda sucks... but they get crashed often.

OP: great to hear that you got paid and sorry for your loss. Hopefully that blue and white viper will be yours. My favorite combos on them are blue with white stripes and white with blue stripes.

😱

You pay $1000 per year to insure a Forester? WTF?

I was paying that much in 2008 when I lived in Metro Detroit. I lived in a really affluent area too, but it was in Wayne County and Michigan's no-fault insurance is already high.

I currently pay less than that for a 2014 Stingray and the same ForesterXT.

-$15K for a new Viper.

Yeah Mi insurance is really high. 10k Nitro with 1 speeding ticket was $670 for 6 months for me. My Fusion is now at $825.

My dad also purchased a '69 red Mustang GT w/ 390ci and bench seat. Apparently the bench is very rare. It is a beautiful car and was fully restored, 16.5k original miles lol.

New Viper looks awesome.

This reminded me of the episode of Top Gear where they tested the Viper. After driving it hard for a few minutes the rocker panel was smoking from the exhaust. They even commented on it. Seems like it may be a design issue.

My uncle had a previous generation RT/10 in silver. It was a blast. He also had a Z06 convertible. Both were really fun. The RT/10 was definitely a more guttural ride than the Z06.

heh the exhaust gets a bit hot, especially the stock exhaust which this car currently has.

I put high flow cats in mine, it has dropped the heat considerably. Its actually a little disappointing that the car no longer radiates enough heat to be comfortable in sub freezing weather with the windows down, but the tradeoff should be worth it for more comfortable summer driving.
