I have a question. Is NAT enabled by default on the 675? Reason I ask is because I have my server plugged directly in to it, bypassing my router, and have a static WAN IP assigned to the NIC that will handle web traffic. I can ping the address from the server itself, and ping the internal NIC address assigned to the other card in the server from anywhere on my network.

But, when attempting with outside access, it can't find the web IP address. I've got a hunch it's because NAT is enabled on the Cisco. But, I wanted to verify that before I went in and started messing around.:)

I also sent you an eMail, so if you get here first, just nuke it.

Thanks!:D

In a typical PPP configuration for the Cisco 675, NAT is enabled. For a typical static configuration, you would want to re-write the Cisco with a slightly different configuration:

cbos#set int wan0-0 ipcp 0.0.0.0
cbos#set int wan0-0 dns 0.0.0.0
cbos#set ppp wan0-0 login (login)
cbos#set ppp wan0-0 password (password)
cbos#set dhcp server disable
cbos#set nat disable //optional, if you've done a NVRAM erase, NAT will be disabled by default
cbos#set interface eth0 address (reserved gateway IP)
cbos#set interface eth0 netmask 255.255.255.248 //netmask may vary by ISP, for .NET it's a /29 mask
cbos#write
cbos#reboot

That should take care of the problem. If it doesn't, we have a very cool LAN support team (that I'm currently in training for) that can be reached at 1-800-247-7285 (6).

You could also probably solve the problem by simply going to a cbos# prompt and:

cbos#set nat disable
cbos#write
cbos#reboot

That should accomplish the same thing, although the re-write is probably a good idea anyway.

If you need any more help, feel free to e-mail me, or call the MegaLAN team. They are MUCH more knowledgeable/helpful than the regular floor techs.
