definitly a violation of hippa unless you sign a waiver. I work at a pharmacy and know all about the confidentiality issues.

You doctor should not tell your company why you were there nor do you have to tell them why. you just gotta show a note that says you were physically there.

Corp. Compliance work for the entity, outside audit works for others and makes sure they are complying...

Being it's a hospital I understand the policy, yet don't agree with it. It's easy for a hottie or a friend of a doc to get a note probably anytime.

The hospital can then double check it easy if in-house and hold the doc or nurse accountable for false diagnosis.

I grew up with my mom as a nurse, dr's notes are easy...but I never abused them.
