Vinyl LP Album recording??

Anyone familiar with recording LP's to hard drive/CD's. Curious about noise filter software choices. Any help out there?

I've used the following to record hundreds of LP's to my hard drive then to CD-R:

Cool Edit Pro
Cool Edit 2000 w/
Sound Forge (full, not XP)
Steinberg WaveLab
GoldWave

I got the best results with Cool Edit Pro or Cool Edit 2000 w/ the Audio Cleanup plugin (both have exactly the same funcionality/tools for this task). None of these programs is "super" user friendly, the programs that are easy to use also happen to be really poor tools.

Terratec http://www.terratec.com/ttus/products.htm has a product called "Phono PreAmp Studio" that might interest you, it includes a HW interface (MM pickup only) and editing SW. I havent used this one myself but the soundcard I have from them is A OK for audio.

That is why I use ECDC 5 Platinum - It's Sound Stream does that very nicely and is a piece of cake to use. I've tried all the other stuff - too complicated. That is where ECDC 5 kills Nero - which can't handle analog conversion at all.
