they rock. the top feel like vinyl and have little grooves in it. Much better on the eyes as a gift than a standard cd.

Do you have a turntable? If you do, toss one on there and tell us what it plays! ;)

You must be joking! Are these simply regular black CD-Rs with a vinyl top, or can you actually burn vinyl? I seriously doubt these work on turntables! We're talking digital vs. analog here.

># <smacks head> Of course you can burn vinyl...two clicks of the starter on the propane torch and BAM...of course you should wear the necessary safety equipment, those fumes can erase a lot more than you can fit on a cd...

I have these CD-Rs and they are very neat to give to someone as a gift. The die of these CD-Rs is dark blue, so if you have a Yamaha CRW-F1 burner, you can make one neat present.

As far as quality, they are just regular Verbatim's CD-Rs, similar to Verbatim Datalife Plus series.

are these vinyl top and bottoms? I seen some at office max on sale and was told by a CSR that they are horrible and have static. Isn't the bottom of the cd regular poly carbonate? Not vinyl like anyways.

nice bump ... yes it has a vinyl bottom when it burns and that's where the static sound comes in. Just like old school vinyl.

the "lol" was about the ridiculous statement from the salesperson. these cd's are just REGULAR CD's. they just look and feel neat. they won't do anything a regular cd-r wouldn't do.

about em:

They aren't actually vinyl.
The bottoms are the dark blue CDR media and the top simply has a black textured sticker on top.
The are rated at 24x I think but I've burned with them many times at 40x with no trouble
There isnt' room to write jack sh1t on the label.
They're otherwise cool.
