Had my cruddy CD player speakers hooked up to my Sherwood RD-6105 for awhile. Just got my Dynaco 80Q vintage integrated amplifier in today and it blows the Sherwood out of the water, hahaha! The Sherwood is rated at 100 watts per channel and the Dynaco 40 watts. I get the Sherwood's max output volume at about 1/6 a turn of the volume knob on the Dynaco.

Thanks to ribbon13 for all the help :)

i can thank him for my marantz 1120 too, but um the sherwood is prolly 100 at max, so figure 50 watts possible and prolly 40 watts, the dynaco is prolly 40 watts at 8 ohms, and underrated at that.

is it vaccum tube powered. i hink vaccum tube powered ampus with that analog signal give a warmer more pleasing sound explainnig why the older amp is better.

That's kinda like saying a 10 year old Mercedes is better than brand new $8000 Hyundai Excel isn't it?

what's the best way to clean metal? the pots need some major cleaning, so does the body. the front face plate could use a shine, too. any recommendations? I'll probably start out with rubbing alcohol.
