There are zeros in the VIN for my Porsches. Porsche VINs include the number of the car, in other words, the last 4-5 digits tell you what number your car was in production order. (i.e. if the VIN ends with "02673" then that car was the 2,673rd car of that particular model made in that year.)

EDIT: VIN's differ from manufacturer to manufacturer. You have to figure out what the VIN scheme is for the company that made the car before you can figure out if a VIN is valid. Sometimes the VIN scheme will even differ among models from the same company.
