For starters, is anyone here playing this (on east)? I'd love to find others to group with and whatnot down the road.

My wife and I were going to start playing. I was wondering which of the two females is easier? The game seems pretty daunting up front for her, so I'm hoping to streamline it as best I can. In conjunction with that, what would be a good compliment character for each female if we are going to do most of the instances together?

Also how hindering does the F2P aspect get if we aren't going to spend any money?

Staff Evie is the easiest character to play.

This game is pretty fun. I always got really low frame rates from the mage's spells though. People used to be pissed off at me because of that. Pretty cool game though. I believe the only bonus you get from buying items with real money is customization (eg different clothes/armor.) I played Evie and she was pretty simple. It took a few minutes and asking a few questions to understand how casting skills worked, but after that I didn't have any troubles. Just remember to train for every skill when it's possible right off the start.
