I think this is highly possible (sorry if the title was misleading!). Heinz-Harold Frentzen just got fired from Jordan and we all know the Jordan car is leaps and bounds above the BAR. Also, Mika looks to be staying so there is no room for JV at McLaren. There is also no room at Williams unless Sir Frank releases Juan Pablo which I don't think he will. So whaddaya think? Will us Villeneuve fans get at least some relief in seeing him in a more competitive car? Heck, it's still a Honda so Villeneuve's advertising contract with Honda would remain intact.

No not possible.

Jordan does appear to have a superior chassis to BAR, but is plagued with horrendous reliability and TC.

If anything- there are rumors of JV moving to McLaren next year which would be quite a bit more logical. Why would JV want to go from one mid-pack team to another mid-pack team.

And while I love Honda- they really dissapointed this season. Their current powerplant is rated to be as powerful as last years Ferrari engine currently serviced by Sauber and Prost.

Rumor has it they were overly focused on drivability which became of less importance with the introduction of TC. Engines like the Ilmor powerplant which apparantly has a savage power curve can be controlled with TC.

Wait, GL, I haven't been paying attention to F1 since the last race. Frentzen was fired? Or was he just not resigned for the next season? Is he driving for Jordan in this weekend's race?

Please, since I missed it, would you please fill me in?

Thanks.

Yeah but just this week Jock Clear (BAR engineer) is quoted as saying (paraphrasing here) "Jacques needs a better car, he shouldn't waste his talent on fighting for 9th instead of 11th place". Yesterday Pollock says "Jordan is clearly the better of the Honda-powered teams". And today, HHF gets the boot.

BAT owns Benson and Hedges in addition to Lucky Strike.
JV is of course promoting Honda engines.

I've heard the rumours about him going to McLaren and that would be awesome but let's face it. Mika isn't going anywhere next year, and it doesn't look like Coulthard will be either. JV's only hope of landing a McLaren deal is if Mika retires and after Silverstone there's a fat chance of that happening. Besides, can you imagine Ron Dennis and JV on the same team:)?

yiwonder,

Yes he was fired today. Himself and Eddie Jordan had a disagreement over the last race. Ricardo Zonta will be taking his place for the remainder of the season. The mainstream media also reports that Takuma Sato is a contender for the Jordan seat.

Frentzen gets the sack
