The leader of Ukrainian opposition Viktor Iouchtchenko, disfigured after a disease which it allotted to an attempt at poisoning of political nature, could find his true face, according to an Austrian doctor who treated it in Vienna.

"If it is not victim of nothing other, I think that it has good lucks to be entirely restored", declared with the AFP Doctor Michael Zimpfer, director of the private clinic Viennese of Rudolfinerhaus where Mr. Iouchtchenko was recently neat.

According to the doctor, one cannot prove poisoning.

But Mr. Iouchtchenko, whose suddenly out-of-date face changed color and who is hailed by the disease, should find his appearance of a few months ago, has it says.

"That should be reversible. I said to him that the skin takes much longer to be restored than the remainder ", underlined Mr. Zimpfer adding that the Ukrainian leader 50 years old was" a beautiful man before, in good health ".

Mr. Iouchtchenko had been allowed in Rudolfinerhaus, a famous private private clinic, in September for a serious gastro-intestinal disease.

According to its partisans, this one is the consequence of an attempt at poisoning by its political adversaries at one time when it carried out in the surveys on its rival pro-Russian Viktor Ianoukovitch.

The opposition, like the SOEC and the Westerners, challenge the validity of the presidential election of Sunday, and the victory allotted to Mr. Ianoukovitch officially.

According to information's of press, Mr. Iouchtchenko fell sick after having met the former chief of the KGB, the Soviet secret service which used drugs against political adversaries.

Dr. Zimpfer recalled that his private clinic had not found any proof of poisoning, not more than one medical institute to the United States, consulted a few days later.

"I know all the symptoms but I do not know the reason of their appearance", indicated Doctor Zimpfer.

According to the doctor, the business was complicated by the late arrival of Mr. Iouchtchenko in Vienna, that is to say five days after the first manifestation of the symptoms.

"During this lapse of time, the poison can be eliminated by the body" has it says.

The Austrian ministry of Justice in addition stated Wednesday that it was studying if potential poisoning were liable to the Austrian courts. Vienna will then decide to accept or not a request of the Ukrainian justice of assistance in an investigation ordered by outgoing president Leonid Koutchma.

"It is necessary that that is a criminal business with the eyes of the Austrian courts", the principal private secretary of the ministry of Justice declared, Michael Schoen.

Doctor Zimpfer confirmed that Austrian justice had confiscated a copy of the medical file of Mr. Iouchtchenko. He indicated that he should testify, indicating that itself and other doctors of Rudolfinerhaus were to testify in this business in front of a court.
