I hope this is in the correct forum. If it is not, I apologize.

Okay so the title says it all. Within the last 6 months I have recieved 3 defective VX2435WM Viewsonic LCD monitors.

I originally made a purchase from newegg. Things were fine for several weeks. Just before the first 30 days of purchase the monitor began to randomly flash off and on. The screen also emitted an electrical buzzing noise when the brightness was set to anything lower than 100. I contacted Viewsonic to get a replacement. I went through the RMA process, I had to pay 100 bucks out of my pocket to ship a defective monitor back to Viewsonic so they would replace it.

The RMA and warranty information notes I should recieve the replacement within 14 buisness days. The customer service rep I spoke to also verified this. It was over a month before I recieved the replacement. The 2nd monitor acted much like the first, fine for the first 2 months, then the screen randomally went off and on, this time also randomly flashing different colors. This monitor also had the buzzing noise issue.

At this point I'm fairly pissed off, I call for RMA again. I told them I refuse to pay for shipping this time, so they offer me an Advanced RMA, which was never offered to me originally even I specificially asked for it(and hence ended up paying shipping). I spend a few confusing days on the phone with different reps telling me different things about how the Advanced RMA works and what my options are. I also exchange emails for clear answers. I finally get to talk to someone that seems like they have a clue and claims to be a manager. I start to recieve emails from their "vip" customer service email list.

Ok, so the Advance RMA gets approved, but wait! They tell me there isn't any stock available for VX2435WM because its a 'popular' model. I tend to think that they are RMAing so many of these they don't ever have any. In any case they tell me they have no idea when they will get more and they cannot Advance RMA something that is out of stock. They told me I could send the 2nd defective monitor in and wait until a replacement arrives, in which they have no idea when, even though as before the warranty states within 14 business days. Screw that, I'm not going to wait another month+ without a monitor so I hold onto the old one until they can Advance RMA. So I call every week for several weeks and get the same answer, out of stock. I talk to a manager again to ask what is going on, only to find out they have a waiting list for monitors and I was never put on it. The very next day I get an email saying one is in stock so they will go ahead with the Advanced RMA.

Ok, so I got the 3rd replacement monitor. Within minutes of powering it on there are horizontal red lines displayed in several large areas of the screen. I also still get the electrical buzzing noise problem. I wrote Viewsonic another email about this 3rd defective monitor.

So my question to you all is, at this point is there any legal action I can take? This is 3 out of 3 bad monitors I've recieved from Viewsonic. It seems they have no intention or are unable to provide me with a working model. At this point I am going to ask for a full refund for the value of the item. What steps can I take to protect myself?

Can anyone with experience on these types of issues suggest where I can start?
