Right out of the box the Viewsonic VX2235wm-5 monitor which i expected the most out of has disappointed me. Specifically, the image quality. The image/screen quality is very pixelated/grainy.
Especially noticeable in games or videos when the image is in motion. But even the screen image itself at rest does not look clear enough, grainy is the best way to describe it.
I've tried everything from the drivers on the installation CD to new ones off their website, tried updating all my drivers including Directx, Graphics drivers and so on, played around with the panel options (although I noticed the "sharpening" option is greyed out), tried the DVI and RGB cables, but the result is always the same. Very pixelated image, it's extremely frustrating considering I invested double the budget of another 22inch monitor such as samsung because I trust Viewsonic's quality.

I am running windows XP SP2, with a 700W power Supply (Epsilon), a Gigabyte Motherboard P35-DS3R, 4 Gigs of kingston ddr2 RAM, a Sound blaster Audigy 2 Sound card and a XFX 8800 GT Alpha dog edition video card with all the latest official drivers.
I'm running a 1680x1050 resolution[optimal], but changing it to anything else makes no difference at all. The text is thin and unclear and , as you move a window around you can see it getting pixelated. How can a viewsonic monitor have such bad image quality?
Is there anything any of you can think of?
And is this normal at all?

Thanks in advance.
