viewsonic vx2035wm

A quick TFT Central search turned up "ViewSonic VX2035WM 5ms 20"WS TN Film". If that's anything to go by, not likely to be as good as the VX2025WM, but ought to be a fair bit cheaper.

Looks like a TN panel. And we all know TN=crap.
If you can, go for the VX2025wm. It has the much better 8-bit P-MVA (right? there are just so many different letters and panels 🙂) panel in it.

I caught this off the LCD buyers giude:
TN (Twisted Nematic): Without an ODC (overdriving circuit), this type of panel offers the fastest pixel response time. This does however come at the expensive of viewing angles and color fidelity. Out of all TFT-LCD panels, the TN type has the lowest contrast. It is also a 6-bit color depth panel, meaning dithering or frame rate control (FRC) must be employed to reach close to a full 8-bit depth. Pixels in their active state on a TN are black, while in their inactive, white.

Is my answer in this breakdown? I'm so ignorant on LCD tech I really don't know. I still use a 21" CRT but I'd like to learn; a local retailer has a TN panel Viwesonic for a seemingly low price... Thanks again.
