Does anyone know if the these use the same LCD panel..?

I was under the impression the VX20225wm used a S-PVA/P-MVA (or something like that panel)

is there a website to go and find out what panel is used..

I was looking at specs and the VX2025wm doesnt equal the VX2035wm..so they changed something for sure..VX2035 has a faster response time but lower viewing angle(160vs 176)

Faster response and worse viewing angle pretty much implies TN almost all the time. So I would assume 2035 is using a cheaper TN, but thats just a guess.

Those are most definitely not the same panel.

Looks like the VX2035wm is certainly a TN.

VX2025wm looks like either a P-MVA/S-PVA or S-IPS.

AFAIK, Viewsonic pretty much always uses P-MVAs, so that'd be my bet.

I didn't go googling for this info though, so it's all AFAIK.

so Viewsonic has now moved to TN panels..

ViewSonic VX2035WM (widescreen) has a 20 inch 5 ms (g2g) TN panel.
from link above...crap

I just picked this up for $299-$40 off $200 from CC -$50MIR + tax=$230

BTW does the g2g mean anything

Eh well, welcome to the wonderful world of poor viewing angles & inaccurate color :D

Nah, a lot of people don't really mind TNs.

I'm not one of those people (i f*cking hate them), but i'm not a very average user either.

You could always return/exchange it if you're unhappy, no?

g2g is gray-to-gray pixel response time.

Basically, it's the incorrect lie of a number that manufacturers use to advertise the lowest possible response time.

Viewsonic actually has the response time specs backwards on their own site

It says 5ms white-black-white, 8ms gray-to-gray, which is the reverse of the correct numbers.

Yup..I never opened it..becasue I was afraid this might be the case

I got a V1935wm..also a TN at Costco for $170 after IR...but the vertical size is too small and i have to admit it looks pretty good...simialr in appearence to my 930b

Now I realize these are TN panels...and not as good as P-MVA

I also have a Fujitsu N5010(Ithink the lcd on this is higher end..16in and it is a beautiful screen but maybe I am mistake on how good it is...)

I am colorblind(red/green so maybe to me these TN panels are fine...)

Well, personally, my biggest beef w/ TNs is really just their viewing angles.

I don't really mind their other drawbacks too much.

Not sure if being somewhat colorblind would make much difference for that, but i suspect color quality won't really be an issue for you.

I'd say the big thing would be viewing angles still, but that's just me.

viewing angle is really no issue as I just have them set straight in front of me
