ViewSonic VX2025WM Problem

Well, i jst bought a new ViewSonic VX2025WM. My last monitor, samsun 710N got fried for some reason. Nway, when i first connected the 2025 it didn't give me the DVI option. I'm using a 7800 GT btw. So i switched to analog and it kinda worked, but the resolution wasn't the ideal one. So I googled a lil bit and found out that I had to connect the monitor on the other DVI port.

That seamed to work fine for like two days. Now the monitor is goin' crazy. Sometimes when I reboot it shows the boot screen and after that it switches off, then on, and so on and so on...
It does the same when i play video games, either when launching the game or when coming back from the game.

Could somebody please tell WTH IS GOIN' ON?????
 
A lil off topic now...
I've been experiencing some other display issues. But this ones related to the GFX card i think... Sometimes when I quit a game a blank screen appears and i can only see the mouse cursor. If there's music playin on the background (cuz sometimes i play games with my own music, with winamp) the music keeps on playin normally.

Any ideas?
 
Sounds like a graphics card driver problem. It wouldn't be a hard lockup since the music continues, so I don't think the driver is crashing. You have the latest NVIDIA official WHQL drivers I assume? This happens with all games? Does the blank screen ever go away and show your desktop again or must you reboot? How much RAM do you have? You can move your mouse cursor everywhere on the screen and still have it visible, right? Also, does anything seem to be busy (like the hard disk) during the blank screen?
 
i had the black screen problem intermittently after exiting warcraft 3 after i upgraded to the latest drivers b/c it didn't happen with the older drivers afaik. i think it happens only when i have internet explorer open.

Nwya, yeah, i have the latest drivers. It seams to happen to almost everygames. Sometimes i press CTRL+ALT+DEL and some few other keystrokes like ENTER and i manage to see my desktop partially. Need to refresh or even sometimes restart the explorer.exe. Yes i can move the mouse cursor. I'm not sure about the hard drive but i suppose it is busy during that time.
 
i'm having video issues since upgrading to the latest nv drivers - 91.31 (i'll get like 'no signal" msgs on screen and monitor will shut off). going to go back to older drivers.
 
As far as video card drivers go... dont update unless your having troubles after installation. I have discovered that older original drivers sometimes work just as good, if not better, than newer drivers. Its great ATI and nVidia keep tweaking the drivers and so forth and updating them but... If it aint broke dont fix it.

The monitor is jst freakin' me out!!!
I've read the forum u gave me xtknight... Well the thing is theDVI input kinda works. Well I wld say that it doesn't bt nway. Cuz, when i boot I see the POST screen. Then sometimes the monitor goes blank and the green light starts blinkin'. I have to turn it off and turn it back on again. After a couple of attempts it comes back.

Everything stays fine until i try to play a game. Firt the resolution of the game doesn't go more than 640x480... if I try something higher than that the monitor goes blak again with the green light blinkin'. OOhhh and some times before actually getting to the game, the monitor does the same. So should I send this MTF back to the store or wat???
