Just picked one up. Shipping was kinda steep ($32) but it's coming from NY to CA. No tax made up for the shipping. Great deal............

its $379.99 + 32.30 Shipping = $412.29 Before rebate, $312.29 After rebate.

Better then Neweggs or Buy.com, but you need to wait for the rebate.

A low end 17" LCD for ~$300? You must be looking at Sony prices. :)

Wow! The price war has raged on...LCD displays that is...
Someone corrects me if I'm wrong. This must be the lowest cost on a 21 display (wide screen or not)

I dont know if its worth it when buy.com has free shipping (or newegg), is only $27 more, and has a much better Return policy. From reading J&R's return policy, it sounds like they won't take back anything 20"+, even if defective, you have to go through the manufacturer.

Spent my amazon GCs which I just bought for 90% face value. Monitor comes out to a net of ... $273 cash shipped AR. Hope the rebate still works through amazon's J&R...

I don't mean to thread-crap anyone but I do not see any good logic as to why's investing a large amount of cash for a 4:3 monitor anymore as the whole nation is transitioning onto widescreen HDTV. A monitor is not something you upgrade every other year and it does usually and easily outlast your PC.

Just called J&R.
He said, "Huge back order on this. 102 ahead of me!"

Should get more mid-May.

I just called J&R as per their backorder notification...

They indicated they should be getting a new shipment of these about 4 days from now, and they would be immediately shipped out to those that had ordered them.

The CSR couldn't tell me where I was on the backorder list, but did indicate that the purchase date would remain the original date we ordered the product, so the rebate would still be valid (as long as postmarked within 30 days of the purchase date).

Unless I see another deal better than this one for a good 20" Widescreen LCD, I'm going to go ahead and wait for them to ship this monitor.

Um, maybe for people who don't watch video on their computer? I would venture to say a huge percentage of people do not watch video on their monitors. My dad would be a good candidate, his eyes are bad. He purchased a HDTV downstairs for video.

Me, I don't watch video on my 20.1" widescreen, I have a 42" LCD hanging right above my computer, hooked up to it, for HDTV and DVD viewing. I just think widescreen is cool therefore I bought it for personal use. And also soon, some gaming.

Picked this up today from Office Depot for $435 with $50.00 MIR. I paid taxes and it was more than the other deals for the monitor, but, I wanted to make sure I would have no problems making a return if I had dead pixels, etc.

Nice monitor. Very compact and light. NO dead pixels! No color banding! No backscreen bleeding worth mentioning that I can see!

This is my first lcd, so it does take getting use too. *Very* bright screen by default. If you get like right up on it (a few inches) there is some bluring, almost like vasaline on the screen in places, but, sitting down and back in my chair, it's not noticeable. One thing that is bothering me is the "concave" effect, where it looks like the screen slopes as it gets toward the middle. I'm told this is an optical illusion common with flat screens and wide ones in particular and that you don't see it after a while. I've already noticed it's not comming to my attention after just a few hours use.

Nice monitor, I have no issues, which is worth it's weight in gold compared to the whole dell 2007 wfp thing currently going on.

I just got mine, paid a total of $273 shipped AR after using my amazon GC @ 90% face value.

Bright colors, much cleaner than my 2005fpw that has a natural red tone to it. Backlight bleeding on the top left corner, but there's always been backlight bleeding with these so I can't complain that much...for $273 this monitor was a bargain.

No dead pixels :). The only unfortunate thing is that it doesn't seem to have the ratio adjust that the 2005fpw does. That's too bad...WC3, SC, and ET will have to stay on my Dell I guess.
