Viewsonic VP930 or Dell 2007WFP ?!?!

I'm about to buy my first LCD screen because my 19" Sony Trinitron G420 is dying.

After some extensive reading I've narrowed my choices to the Viewsonic VP930.
Then I found the Dell 2007WFP and my outlook changed, maybe I will go widescreen?

They both seem like pretty decent LCD screens, but I'm not sure which would be better for my needs (graphics design/gaming/viewing movies).
I know widescreens can be fiddley with scaling for gaming but im prepared to take that onboard.

Without having either of them infront of me its hard to make the choice.

Which should I pick? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Well for viewing movies and gaming I would say go with the widescreen (though I have zero experience in this myself, I've been looking to make the switch to the 2007WFP too). For graphics design, as with many other programs, with a 4:3 monitor you get more pixels and thus more productivity, so it's really up to you to decide if you can life with widescreen or not.

One thing that goes well for the widescreen is that the 2007WFP apparently scales well (can stretch, do the black bars, whatever you want), so it wouldn't be terrible for gaming I assume.

Yeh I guess its too soon for some decent reviews. All the current ones I've read seem to be.. a little lacking...

Has anyone here purchased the Dell 2007WFP??
I'd really like some first hand insight to what the screens like for gaming/movies/color reproduction

thanks for the reply

If it had component input I'd already have ordered one. Since it lacks that, it's slightly less appealing for console gaming since component is much better than composite or s-video. =/
As it is, if they put it on sale for $400-something, I'd probably pick one up.

I'm having the same dilemia. I was going to go with a 19" LCD (probably the 940B or the Viewsonic VX924/922), but the Dell 2007WFP is very tempting.

My biggest concern is how often am I going to upgrade my VC to play al the new games at 1600x1050 resolution.
