I want one of these, but I don't know which. Help me choose...
From what I have read here and here, I can tell that the VP191b 8-ms version has a pretty solid <16-ms response time throughout, and is a true 8-bit (16.7 million colors) MVA panel (AU Optronics 190EN03 V.0).
The VX924 uses a AU190EN4 V.5 panel (stated in the THG review) which I cannot find specs on. I believe it is a 6-bit (16.2 million colors) TN panel similiar to this one.
Now, the VX924's response time is obviously some marketing interpretation of 4-ms. But black level is better (.26 vs .34) contrast stability is as good, and spatial uniformity is near perfect. I do not watch movies on my PC so I am less concerned with video poerfrmance. I am a heavy FPS gamer and very critical as to how a monitor looks/performs. I had a Dell 2001FP back when everyone said it was THE LCD to get for gaming and I returned it because the motion blur gave me headaches!
Anyone put these next to one another and can recommend a clear winner?
Thanks in advance for your comments/additions!
