Viewsonic vp171b 17" LCD vs. NEC 2141 CRT - What looks better?

I have the viewsonic vp171b lcd monitor. It looks real nice and has a 16ms response time for games. Although a friend of mine wants one too. This might be my chance to sell it for a NEC 2141 22" crt. I just have this feeling that games would look a lot better on the crt and it is a lot bigger all for about the same price. Does anyone have experience with either of these monitors or both? Text looks real good on this lcd. Thanks!

I have the vp171b. It replaced a Sony 19" crt. The Viewsonic looks great. I am sure the NEC will too but who wants or has the room for a 22" crt? When I got the LCD, it freed up a ton of room. I can't imagine how much more space a 22" crt would take up.

I personally have refused to buy an LCD, simply because in order to get one that supports natively the resolution I use (2048x1536), I'd have to spend an arm, a leg, and some other choice body parts.

NEC makes quality monitors, as well as Viewsonic. It really ends up being which you really want to have.

Well this is a corner desk and the monitor is on a pedastal so space is really not an issue.

LCD=Easy on the eyes, cool looking, bright clear colors, very sharp, flicker free, expesnive

CRT=not completly flicker free hared on the eyes, alright looking, good with games, low cost, and larger resolutions possible

For games there is no choice get the nec. (1) faster refresh rate (2) better dot pitch (3) faster pixal response (4) girls won't tell you bigger is better.

Omega, the Viewsonic and NEC model have the same panel, but the Viewsonic has more inputs.
