I'm guessing neither one probably supports digital signals? Somebody dig up some reviews on the Aver for comparison... :D

Suprisingly good for the price. You're not going to be able to match a few thousand $ scaler or even the $800 DVDO iScan Pro, but pretty good. If you have an excellent internal scaler on your projector though, it might not be necessary to use this.

Another issue is the default color and contrast settings are pretty off. Fiddling with it will greatly improve the image.

I really wish I could see this for some sort of comparison between the quality of a plain old TV tuner...
Oh and it won't do digital signals right guys?

<< I have the ati tv wonder and the pinnacle pctv pro(worthless junk, from the compusa deal). This seems to be a better alternative to those lame tv cards. TV cards rely on software, and that is where the major problems are. I have alot of old spare monitors that would make great extra tv sets. Only real advantage a PC card has is that you can record stuff to your harddrive. I sure regret buying those 2 cards knowing something like this is this cheap. >>

how's the quality of your ATI TV Wonder? just wondering cuz i have the ATI AIW 128 and tv tuner quality is FAR SUPERIOR to my conventional sets. i got it hooked up to an air antenna and not cable so maybe that's an issue.

i thought there might be a diff w/the internal vs external models cuz of electrical interference w/the internal ones, but my int AIW works incredible, all my friends who have seen it are amazed at how well this little thing sucks in even the weakest signals, ie, UHF channels

does anyone own this VS model? is it any good? personally, i think ATI rocks, but this VS model has the remote feature which is nice

I'm really interested... but I'm not sure yet. I know they have some decent 27" tvs for around $300... so I haven't decided if its worth it to play stuff on my 17" flatpanel rather than get a whole new and bigger tv

Has anyone gotten theres and care to comment on the quality? This would be a no brainer for me if it could do windowed tv instead of having to either watch tv or switch to the desktop.

I hooked mine up today and I have to say that I'm a little disappointed. I guess I was naive thinking this wouldn't happen, but I feel like I'm using my old 3dfx Voodoo 1 when I'm using the computer. The passthrough doesn't operate too well at high resolutions and the text isn't sharp.

As far as the TV quality is concerned, no complaints and it works quite well.

I'll probably end up returning it since I can't take the blurriness though.

this one will work w/o the computer, it's converts monitor to tv, great for dorm room so you can save space.

if you by last week, you could save $20, but $89.99 isn't a bad deal at all.
