Viewsonic VA1912wb - better picture with VGA cable?

So I called Viewsonic about the auto tune and picture tweaking features that can't be accessed with the DVI connection. They said I should try to use the VGA connection - my question is does this provide a better picture on this monitor since you can adjust it? Also doe it fix the scaling problem with this monitor?
