viewsonic rebate problem - $100 rebate denied because "not purchased from participating store" even though it was

here's the rebate. it saids J&R as one of the participating dealers. checked my status on viewsonic.com/rebates and it linked me to www.wheresmyrebate.com and below is the info from tracking my rebate.

Why not call the rebate center and ask them what's going on? If they tell you the same thing (nonparticipating), just fax them your copy of the rebate and the receipt.
(you did make a copy, didn't you?)

viewsonic or the rebate company they partied it to. you have proof that J&R is a participating store. it'd be better to speak to a real person then to try and go back and forth through the mail. Or, you can contact J&R and get their people to contact viewsonic; maybe since they are a bigger company they can get actions faster.

Or contact your local TV news stations' consumer action group.
