Viewsonic lcd video playback trouble =(

I just bought a viewsonic vp2030b (20.1 inch lcd 8ms gray-to-gray, 16ms off-on-off) from newegg. First off: BEATIFUL monitor. I don't notice any ghosting and the picture quality is great. My only issue is whenever I play any video at all, the video window 'dances' a bit. you see lines of the video shift back and forth horizontally!

now some info on my setup:

I'm using an XFX Nvidea 6600GT 128MB card using a DVI cable to connect to the monitor. I have the issue ONLY with 1400x1050 and 1600x1200 resolution. I see the problem with both DVI-A and DVI-D, sad thing is I can't control if its Analog or Digital =x. Everytime I install a different monitor driver or install the perfect suite program that came with monitor it switches on me! The thing that drives me nuts is that after I install a new driver or perfectsuite (I'm often uninstalling and trying it again, or trying the monitor drivers online vs CD that came with the monitor) sometimes the problem goes away! But after I restart my computer sometimes it will come back. I called viewsonic and the kind yet clueless tech support lady just sent me a new cable, I'll try it when it comes in. The next step as far as she's concerned is getting the monitor replaced =/. So....any suggestions? =)

Hmm, I had a similar problem with my new Dell 2007FP. Does this happen on VGA? Does it happen if you go into windows media player and turn on High Quality (Tools>Options>Performance>Advanced>Check off High Quality)?

I'm still not sure what's causing mine but it could be the panel. I'm also suspicious of my 6600GT....

It doesn't happen throught VGA from my laptop, I'll try my desktop out and see, but I really do want to use the DVI, Digital if possible, there is a difference in picture quality in my eyes.

Yeah, I agree about picture quality. If your using DVI-A it's almost the same as VGA excpt it's comming of the DVI port...should look the same as VGA but if there's a problem with that port then it may still produce the same symptoms.
I'm still not sure if it's my panel or my 6600GT...I'm waiting on another panel to test with. If you've got the exact same problem I'm gonna guess it's my 6600GT.

How are the reproduction of gradients on the viewsonic? My are considerable worse on DVI than VGA which again leads me to belive it to be a DVI issue.

You can download gradient display software here if you need it.
