viewsonic g90fb vs nec fe991 refurb

I bought a nec fe991 refurbished from newegg. Sadly it arrived defective. Guess thats what I get for going refurbished. Anyways, I wanted opinons on if I should rma it through nec to get it fixed for free(including shipping both ways) or rma it to newegg for a refund and purchase the g90fb(paying shipping out of pocket but getting a retail monitor instead of refurb). What it boils down to is head to head the fe991 would surpass the g90fb, and i really wanted the diamondtron tube, but do you think the refurbished monitor is worth keeping and fixing for free or to go with the retail viewsonic having to dish out id say about 50-60 bucks more than I paid for the nec.
nec = 207 total
viewsoic = 236 + shipping my rma nec back to them (30ish)
should I give up on the nec???
