This all starts tomorrow at Costco 2-9-09

The Viewsonic monitor is 269.99 with a 50.00 off coupon in the booklet Viewsonic VX2433WM

Reviews at Newegg here

The 42" Vizio 1080P is model number VS420LF1A for 599.99. I saw it at the warehouse yesterday and it was 699.99, so Monday it will go for 599.99. It doesn't show up on Vizio's website, even in the discontinued items. I think it's last year's model possibly

Here's a picture of it from Amazon which matches the pic on the coupon booklet. Vizio

Sceptre 40" 1080P, online only here

for 599.99 plus 39.99 shipping

edit:

sold out online but available at the B&M store

Hella deal
Thinking about whether its worth spending $50 to join
Since the economy crash, that parking lot is absolutely packed every day.
And er, what coupon booklet are we talking about?
It shows as $219 on web, no mention about coupon

It looks like the monitor is a web special. But there is a $100 off coupon on the Vizio in the booklet.

I assume they only ship the coupon books to members. I received my book on Saturday.

The coupon was meant for the Costco B&M. You wouldn't need one for the online store. Yeah, the membership is 50.00 but if you just want the LCD I think you can get it without a membership. It would be a extra 5% added to the price IIRC. Also, there is a 9.99 S&H for this Viewsonic.

The 50.00 membership can be worth it alone for gas purchases. I also get the fresh roasted coffee beans for 9.99 for a 2.5 lb bag, which also saves me the cost of a yearly dues as I use a bag every 2 1/2 to 3 weeks. Costco isn't for everyone, but it can be a money saver for certain purchases.

The monitor is the same price online as B&M. The Vizio is an in-store special and the Sceptre is an on-line only purchase.

Its kinda funny. About 2 weeks ago I went to a dif restaurant for bfast, and had the best rye bread (toasted and buttered) I ever tasted.
The waitress wasnt suposed to tell me where they get it from, but she whispered to me "Costco"

Maybe its worth it for the bread - lol
:D

And as usual - a very good find

Great Deal thanks for sharing. :)

I just picked one up from Costco on my way home. Came out to 256.00 out the door. Damn that E-waste charge.

How is the backlight bleed on the Viewsonic? I know it's a TN and the response time is nice, but if it has huge amounts of backlight bleed (anything more than 0.5" visible bleed) then I'm staying away.

Have two I bought a year or so back for the same price. Good LCD, good quality. These are much better in quality than the Acer 22", I have 2 of those as well. Better than the Acer 24" in other thread as I also have one of those. Acer has panel bleeds which are annoying on mine. The colors doesn't seem to be as rich as well.

If you're unsure, an always go in the store and look at them before buying.

I'm tempted to bite on this. I have a 5 year old 20" (1600x1200) Dell Ultra Sharp now. I really like it and I have no complaints whatsoever but I wonder if a newer monitor would give me a more vibrant image. By my calculations this monitor would have about 7.5% more screen area. I just worry that I would be disappointed by it in some way.

Costco doesn't consider LCD *monitors* the same as LCD *tvs*. I confirmed with them, this monitor has their standard lifetime warranty.

Not entirely true. The manager can always change it. Their system allows for notes where when your membership is use the they show up onscreen! I know cause I am not allow to return any LCD, TV, Laptop for 3 years :p

They got tire of me returning the Vizio TVs that keeping malfunctioning on my sister. Mind you that was before the 90 day policy was put in place. I thought about pursuing legal action against them but wasn't worth it IMO. I did however asked the manager to go ahead and track/trace the problems of those TVs if he didn't believe me and provide me with proof as well. Was going to actually use this if I did pursue legal actions :D However, there was nothing out of him for 3 years and I see him every time I shop there. I stare at him and he just gives me the dumb look. That's how some people go on with their lives I guess *shrug*
