I have a new monitor for my pc which has 1 dvi, 1 vga and 1 hdmi port on the rear.
I have 2 pcs (1 3way SLI and 2 way SLI), 1 have 2 DVI ports and 1 with DVI & VGA.

If i connect one pc from dvi to dvi and the other from vga to vga (via convertor) will the monitor have any conflicts if they are both plugged in at the same time ? ?
BUT, , ,Please note, , only one pc will be ON at any given time, , ,they will NEVER both be switched on at the same time. I do have a KVM but does not support high res monitors 24 inch. A kvm switcher will be used for keyboard and mouse.

Can i have both the dvi and vga ( or hdmi ) ports connected on the monitor at the same time, , with only one pc on at a time ?

Thank you.
I'm scared to try out my ideas can't afford to buy another 24 inch.

You should be fine (I do it on my Dell 24") using multiple inputs and just selecting the one you want to use. The Viewsonic web site shows the following controls:

On View (PC mode) Auto image adjust, contrast/brightness, input select (D-SUB, DVI, HDMI PC, HDMI AV), audio adjust (volume, mute), color adjust (sRGB, 9300K, 7500K, 6500K, 5000K, user color [RGB]), information, manual image adjust (H/V position, horizontal size, fine tune, sharpness, dynamic contrast, response time, aspect ratio, display mode, ECO mode), setup menu (language, resolution notice, OSD position, OSD timeout, OSD background, sleep), memory recall

Based on the input select option, you should be able to just select the one you want to use.
