I bought one of these coupled with an eVGA 7900GTO from the Hot Deals forum.
Updated to the latest nVidia drivers in XP. Still I can't get the thing to display properly. The nVidia default settings display fine for me with the Dell Ultrasharp 20". The Viewsonic displays everything fine when I connect the Xbox 360. But with the Viewsonic + 7900GTO under XP, the normal black text in Internet Explorer does not display the correct color and it bleeds. The text is not even black: I see tint of green or blue. I've tried adjusting the contrast and brightness on the monitor to no avail.
I even tried the nVidia control panel optimizer wizard. The first test have you adjusting the monitor so the two dark gray bands match or as black as possible. Despite my best effort of adjusting the brightness/contrast I could not get them to match. Even at the darkest setting the gray band does not even come close to being black.
I'm about to return this monitor, but I'd figure someone here might have an answer.
