This is the best price around for this!
I was going to buy one and my tv just died last night 🙁

ViewSonic 22" W DVI
5ms 700:1 280 cd/m2
1680 x 1050 WSXGA+
3 YEAR WARRANTY
Integrated WEBCAM and Speakers
OptiSync Digital/Analog Inputs

Linky!

Paid $299.99, same store last November.
Prices on lcd just keeps on the slide.
LCD panels factories in China must have put out way too many a day.

TN = display tech that is cheap to make, great response times. Not the greatest color reproduction and not that great viewing angles.

For the average user they are a fantastic bang for the buck and look swell.

Just about every 22" is a TN panel and now the cheap 24" samsungs/acers are also TN panels.

I got two of them on their last deal for $249. They had a instant $50 off. Just noticed they have a samsum 24" for $489 B&M. I might be picking up one to try.

I saw the stack of 22-inch Viewsonic for $299 - $40 coupon (they have copies at the register) during lunch time.

I was in the store looking for the 24-inch Samsung that they have listed for $479. The Hawthorne, CA Costco has the Samsung on display with a note that says "on order". I'll head over to the Torrance, CA store later this week.

I just had a chance to play with this at CC. It was hard to tell the quality as they where feeding it analog VGA at a non-standard resolution. Blech. Some oddities: Bezel is a shiny/glossy fingerprint magnent. On the bottom of the bezel is an incredibly cheap plasticy fake chrome speaker covers. Really looks bad. There is a headphone jack on the side but no microphone jack (too bad since one of the complaints is bad microphone). Only inputs into the LCD that I could find are DVI/VGA and USB. So I assume the USB is used for web cam, microphone, onboard speakers and the headphones.

I was excited about having a webcam built into the monitor are there any other options?-+

OT, but what technology do the HP glossy screens use? Whenever I go look at monitors, everything elses looks......., well,........ dull 🙂

What makes this better than the 22" Acer or other TN panel models, which have been closer to $200 recently?

Edit: Ah, newegg describes it as "glossy," is that it?

I also want to know. Besides the webcam and integrated speakers, what's so great about this monitor?

I have no need for a webcam and already have speakers and headphones.

Really, 40 smackers off 300 is only about 13%.

Costco markup is suppose to be 14% so they can still make a little off of it..

Then this monitor is not for you of course.

If you want cheap sans webcam check out the Acer for $189 at BB.

FrizQuadrata the only glossy on this monitor is the bezel. The screen is just like every other 22".

Most TN panels have been around $250-$300 lately. Some go as high as $399. while Acer and offbrands regulary go on sale for $200 this is not a bad price for a viewsonic. If you need a webcam this is a good deal. If you don't, move along you can do better elsewhere....

I actually picked this Viewsonic up. Just happened to drop by Costco and saw this.

The Acer feels cheap compared to this monitor. Just moving the monitor around, the Viewsonic feels more sturdy. Even though both of these are TN, the Viewsonic looks better.
