Viewing super high-resoultion images...

I work with somewhat large datasets and have created an image (png) of a similarity matrix that is 23k x 23k pixels. I would like to be able to view this image and zoom in/out quickly like they do with Photosynth, but i havent found anything like it. I dont need the 3D, or the stitching though. I have looked at Panorama viewers and they all die with an image this big. Any suggestions?

Try Faststone image viewer. I haven't used it with anything that large, but it handles 3k x 3k with no problems.
