Viewing slideshows on TV

DISCLAIMER: Didn't know which forum this belonged in.

I heard there was this way of burning CDs with photos, that you could view slideshows on the TV without any software on the DVD player, as long as it was compatible.

How is this done? I think my DVD player is compatible, but I'm not sure.

TIA.

Yes, I do it all the time

There's a program call DVD SlideShow, that can burn a photos on VCD/DVD as a slideshow, you can even add your own background music (with mp3, wav, etc)

EDIT: This is the program I am referring to

Hmmm...I thought there was a way to do this and Windows also had a method to burn it. In that case, forget I even asked.

Some models just read a directory and slideshow throught the picture. Maybe try and save a bunch of jpgs on a CD and see if it will just display them.
