viewing ext4 drive from windows

I have heard that Ext2fsd may work somewhat for this. has anyone here tried it, and what were your results? thx in advance.

From what I understand, it does not work with the default ext4 partition. You have to disable Extent while making ext4 partition for Ext2fsd to work.

There are various options listed, most promising seems to be the use of VirtualBox to either Install Linux on a VM, and use a shared folder, or to maybe use VirtualBox to create a virtual drive container that maps to a physical partition.
