Viewing emailed msn messenger histories

I've been sent old msn histories recently from someone and trying to view them is a bit of a pain. When I drag and drop my own messenger histories in to Firefox they come up neatly formatted and easy to read, but when I drop their's in it is just a long list of words with no formatting of any kind, or even dates or the name of who was speaking at the time. I downloaded an XML viewer so that I could read them a bit more easily and its better than nothing but there are quite a few meg's of history to get through and its becoming more than a real strain.

Is this a normal problem? and is there a way that I can fix it so that MSN histories that have been sent to me from a different PC come out correctly formatted?

I don't have much to offer, but maybe try opening it in Notepad++. You may be able to use some of the built in formatting options to make it easier to read, or use macros. It would require some work on your part, but it should be fairly easy once you figure it out. This is assuming you can read them in Notepad++....
