View outlook mail via web?

Is there a way to host a web based email program from my home computer that would integrate with my Outlook 2003? I want to be able to view the mail stored on my home computer from public computers. Could I run exchange server? or is there a simpler way?

You could set up VNC on your home computer. I personally like TightVNC.

*edit*-vnc is not limited to email, you can do almost anything as if you were at your computer.
 
Is this any different than gotomypc.com? I tried them with their one month trial. The only problem was that the connection and the computer I use at work is too slow to handle the high amount of bandwidth required.
 
How are you retrieving your mail from your mail server? If it's POP3/SMTP you could run a web-based client to pull directly off the server such as Squirrelmail.

Exchange does have a web-based interface for checking email (Outlook Web Access or OWA as it's called) however if you arent already running a mail server than running Exchange simply for OWA wouldnt be anywhere worth the hassle or costs.

I'm not sure how much bandwidth it uses up, but there are different encoding settings which use less bandwidth. It's free so it's worth a shot. linky
 
I second the VNC suggestion. I use it to control my computers at home when I need to.

I reccomend taking a look at UltraVNC as well. I like the UltraVNC viewer much better. It has a ton of features. It even has a file transfer protocol built in, so you can grab files off your remote computer.

All of the VNCs should be compatible. So, if you install tightVNC server, you should still be able to try out the UltraVNC viewer.

If your systems are behind a router, you will have to set up port forwarding and connect that way.
