view as: large icons vs. list

Not sure if this has been posted before (searched but couldnt find it), though I know it's not a problem specific to my system...

Win98 (and other versions) does not seem capable of "remembering" my preference to view my files in list format, as opposed to large icons. I searched knowledge base, but i guess i didnt hit the right keywords, cause I couldnt find anything useful.

I'm sure many of you have (had) this problem-any solution?

open Explorer, & set your preferences in a folder

view >> folder options >> view tab & click the like current folder button
