Is there a big gain if i were to oc'ed my 5850 from 725 to 775mhz ? I ran 3dmark05 from stock and 775mhz but i see only around 400 points increase. so is it worth it to have it overclocked ?
I would say that it depends on it if helps you with the applications (games most likely) that you play. I have a 5870 and overclocking it by 50Mhz gave me a 20s decrease on computation time in Milkyway@Home but only a few frames in some of the games I play. I noticed it was different results in different applications.
only 50mHz won't be a huge difference, but from what I hear you could maybe do 825-850 on stock voltage, or higher with overvolting, now THAT would make a difference
