Videos looking cruddy

I just put a brand new 7600GT in my computer. If I watch videos like trailers on websites, the video is clear, nice etc. If I watch other types of videos though - like short ones you download from sites, the picture is very dark and hard to make out the video at all. I checked a video I had watched before and even watched it on another computer and it was fine on the others, but all dark on this. Any one know what might be causing that?

The initial video color settings are screwy and conflicted betwixt old and new control panels. From the new control panel, restore defaults.

"Short ones you download from sites" = PORN!

The problem with most porn downloads is that they are in a much crappier resolution and you are trying to force them to run full-screen.
