I saw an older forum message about VideoLogic Siroccos. I've never heard of this speaker set, but I see pretty damn good reviews on the web about the 2.1 set.

I've been looking all over google to see if I could find prices on these, but I can't. It doens't even seem like they make them anymore. I see stuff like VideLogic Sirocco Crossfire, which are 4.1, but I haven't read any reviews on those.

Anyone got advice on where I can find/get these speakers? I'm willing to spend ~200 dollars on a speaker set, be it 2.1, 4.1 or 5.1. I just want high quality sound, and the bass does not have to be thumping. The reason why I was interested in the VideoLogic Sirocco's (2.1) was because I live in a dorm at college w/o a lot of room, and reviewers kept raving about how smooth it was, and how the music felt like one piece instead of several pieces thumping out their own thing from each speaker.

Oh. If anyone has any other recommendations for me (other than the videologic siroccos) I would be plenty obliged.

Much Thanks,
Taejin

I think Video Logic (from England) has been out of the speaker biz for a while. compgeeks was blowing out some 4.1 Home Theater sets for $40. a while back that had originally sold for nearly $200. You might find some used/new ones on eBay.

Are there any speaker systems ~200 dollars that you could recommend? It doesn't have to be a 5.1 system, ideally I was looking for something like the ViewLogic's 2.1 system (at least how reviewers described it)

I've always like the Altec ATP-3 for a nice musical 2.1 speaker set, but it isn't made anymore either. Newegg had some stock a while back, but not sure now. Some of the current models are based on a similar design, but I'm not personally familiar with them. Looks like the VS4121 would be the current equivalent model to the ATP3.

newegg has swan m200s back in stock. according to feeback from many users they should be right up there with sciroccos except for bass extension (these are 2.0)

in case you want some bass to go with, i saw a user at another forum trying to sell his diamons hpm s2-4100. i own a set right now, and they are the best multimedia speakers i had a pleasure listening to. most say swan m200s are a step up from these however. klipsch <multimedia line of> speakers that seem to be overly popuar at AT cant touch either.

Is it possible to buy a subwoofer and hook up the swans to a subwoofer later on? And if it is possible, what kind of subwoofer would people recommend?
