Arctic Islands is slowly getting ready. There are few older rebrands to serve the low end of the market. Weston and Banks seem like rebrands.

AMD Baffin spotted at zauba. 4GB GDDR5 confirmed. Looks like 256 bit GDDR5 with improved memory compression to avoid bandwidth bottlenecks.

My initial expectations seem to be true.

Polaris 10 -
Ellesmere 1024 - 1280 sp, 128 bit GDDR5, 2 GB
Baffin 2560 - 3072 sp, 256 bit GDDR5, 4 GB

Polaris 11 -
Greenland or Vega 4096 sp , 2048 bit HBM 2, 8 GB (16GB Firepro with 8 Hi stacks)

HBM2 will be utilized in AMD's flagship GPU only. For Pascal we might see GDDR5X or HBM2 based GP104 and HBM2 based GP100.

Nice...gimme that flagship Polaris though. I need as much GPU as possible...

I think Vega is an entirely different chip, not a codename for a SKU. The slide (Zeppelin CPU) that mentioned Vega called it "Vega 10", since Vega is a star (rather than an island), it's analogous to "Polaris 10".

I don't know exactly where it lines up, but I think it may be a higher end chip than Polaris 11, or possibly between Polaris 10 and 11. More likely the latter as it said 4 TFLOPs. Not sure if it's unreasonable to expect high-end performance on an APU, but Zeppelin is supposed to be a very high-end design.

4.5GT/s for memory (if that's what 4.5GBPS means) is very slow for GDDR5; it's only 1125MHz. The only things AMD has sold since GCN launched with memory clocked that low is Oland and Cape Verde.

I really hope Weston isn't just an Oland rebrand for the low end.

Good call. Putting "4.5gbps GDDR5" into google gives multiple pages for 7770/50s. Hopefully that's the ultra low-end, if true.

It's pretty congruous with the INR values too - $150 (inflated zauba value) seems pretty low for a Polaris card.

It probably is, but so what? No enthusiasts buy Oland now, and none will buy "Weston" in the future if that's what it is. This is OEM-grade trash. They did the same thing when GCN launched, rebranding GPUs as old as Cedar (two generations past) for OEM usage.

The 300 series was very annoying because it was aimed at enthusiasts, it consisted of pure rebrands (when many of us were expecting new products), and it even included a price hike. On the other hand, I really can't bring myself to care about the crap AMD sells at sub-$50 price points for Dell and HP. As long as all the real GPUs (say, Pitcairn-level performance and above) in the 2016 series are new FinFET products, that's fine with me.

Where is GDDR5 confirmed on Baffin XT?

Baffin G5, Weston X3, Banks S3

Whats more: if it would be GDDR5 it would be specified exactly like it is with other GPUs.

I'd like to replace my 290 CF with a stronger single card, but I dont want to buy a 980 Ti on the brink of 14/16's release... I'll be getting whoever does better on this.

I'll also be paying attention to who ends up having the best VR experience in whichever ways that can be measured, since I will likely buy the Card+Headset combo that is the best for 2016.
