videocard or monitor going bad?

At the desktop i have no problems whatsoever, but when i enter a game the screen starts shaking back and forth indicating some piece of hardware is going bad heh

so which is it a bad monitor or video card? my video card isnt overclocked

my friend says it is the monitor because i have left it on 24/7 basically for 2 years.

i would guess video card. I think it would be wierd for a monitor to chose to act up during games, whereas video cards have more of an active role when playing games that use them more extensively. Also, I have had my gateway vivitron monitor on almost all the time for the last 4.5 years. maybe i am lucky. Are you switching resolutions when going into the game? What happens when you swith off hardware accelerations in your settings?
