Hi guys how are you?

I wanna your help/ advice

I live in Brazil and here the CPU Hardware is way expensive, about 3x the USA price

So last year i was at USA and bought 2 GTX 780 to use with SLI and a 2560X1440 resolution

This year about October/November i`m coming back to USA and was thinking about what to do

1 -Stay with my 2 780 SLi even eith only 3GB and a 1440P resolution

2 - Buy 2 Titans Black (each one 1000 dollars)

3 - Buy one Titan Z (3000 dollars)

4 - Wait and see the new line, 880 maybe

So what should i do guys?

Thanks

That's an easy one, 4 unless you have a fair amount of $$ to splurge on the Titans/Z :hmm:

Thanks man, hope the 880 releases before my travel, let`s see what this card will show

The problem, is for example, here in Brazil a Titan Z costs about 2400 dollars, and 1000 dollars at USA, we do not have fair prices here, so when i travel is the oportunity to make some nice purchases

Can't you just import them using Amazon global (maybe something similar) or are the import taxes too high ?

When you import from USA to Brazil you pay about 70% taxes rates from the full price, it1s impossible, so what we do here is buy at places that declare lower values to us and mark things as a gift and prey to customs not open the boxes

Well that's what most people do around the world, even at my place the customs rate are at least 10~20% coupled with extortionist shipping rates making import of electronics from the US a very expensive ordeal. Anyways the 880 will probably land around the Oct/Nov time period & so plan your purchase accordingly.

You forgot option 5. If you're prepared to pay $3k for Titan Z then surely there;s the option to buy 3 Titan Blacks which will piss on TItan Z?

However, stick with what you have and wait and see what the new cards will do.

Yes i forgot that

But i won`t spend 3k at VGA, Titan Z is discarted for now, maybe 2 blacks so?

Thanks again

I'm with number one. There is no reason to replace SLI 780Ti for 1440p. Save your money.

I have SLI 780's and it's so far been good enough to push my 120hz 1440p monitor (sans AA). Not sure why you feel the need to upgrade.

Try to time your trip to visit after the 880 launches. I'd suggest picking up a couple of those then reselling your 780 cards there in Brazil, likely at a nice profit (probably sell the 780s for enough to cover the new 880s purchased in US).

The Titan (Black or Z) cards are a horrible value for gaming. They really aren't aimed at this market, they're more intended for professional use (HPC/rendering/etc). nVidia intentionally neutered the compute functionality of their "gaming" cards so that they could not be used in the professional realm, serving this demand with the Titan lineup.

This. If GPU prices are so expensive in Brazil, then it makes the most sense to keep buying the newest product and selling the old one. This way, you get to purchase new high-end hardware while the sale of your old hardware at inflated Brazil prices pays for your new 880s.
