I wasn't sure if I should post this in the Video Card forums or Power Supply forum but I decided to put this in this forum because it's a power related question.

It seems like my current video card has died out, I know it's the actual device because I went to my friend's place and we put the card in his computer and it did the same thing so I'm guessing it's a sign that I should get a new video card. But I have a problem. The video card that I had met the minimum requirements for the 12V and Watts.

But I also hear that the minimum 12V is not necessarily true all the time.

This is the Power Supply that I have:

This is the Video Card I'm thinking of purchasing:

I don't know too much about the power requirements for hardware but if you guys must know my other hardware here it is:

Optical Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135156
Optical Drive 2: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135170

RAM 1: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145034
RAM 2: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227334
Card Reader: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820223073
On top of Two 80mm FAN powered on my case.

A friend of mine says his power supply doesn't meet his requirement for the video card and still work fine for this past year. But that's is just one person that says that. I want to hear it from someone else.

Will it work?
Please no April Fools joke please. I don't think this board was designed for that.

Odd, that 9800GTX+ is using the new GTS 250 design...wonder why BFG is still calling it the 9800GTX+.

Anyway, you are absolutely fine to run that card and your setup with your power supply.

Your PSU is ~44A, and the 26A is not for the GPU but the whole system.

hmm I don't know where you got my PSU ~44A. How did you add it up to 44A.
so the 26A is not really necessary just for the video card?

Not sure where he got that number either as Fortron (who makes that OCZ) as always with their Epsilon units didn't deem it necessary to give a combined rating for the 12V rails.

I know you are getting 18A...from just looking at a single 12V rail....notice there are four of them and they will have a combined rating (although that combined rating WILL NOT be 4*18 or 72A).

Anyway at full power Gabriel Torres at Hardware Secrets was able to pull 43A from the 12V. He was also able to pul 52A from them when he went to overload the PSU past its rating.

Also NO 26A it not just for the videocard. 26A is a inflated estimation by nVidia on the 12V power a fairly high performance machine running that card would need. That includes the processor, the videocard, the fans, the harddrive and optical drive motors etc.
