What happens if you try to boot with say an X1900XT and a 8800 GTS using an sli board? Serious Question here, Im not talking about Sli'ing the cards(obviously) But having one OS run one card and another OS run the other card, basically giving you a "choice" of which card you want to game on.

Can a bios setting detemine which slot to use?

Why you would want to is beyond me, but I do know that in my BIOS I'm almost sure that it allows me to select which PCI-E slot is the primary for video. Not sure if that's the same with all motherboards though.

The BIOS will enumerate and initialize both; the selection in the BIOS menu is usually to determine which one is initialized first. So you may be able to see the BIOS startup screens on one card but not the other. But once an OS loads and boots up a card, you should be able to get display from it regardless of the init order in the BIOS.
