I have a couple of holocaust movies I have to use in a project. however, i can't seem to get them to fast forward, or even just jump ahead a few minutes. I click farther along the slider, and it just jumps back to the beginning.

is there any way to fix this?

how was this caused?

thanks
david

You don't provide a lot of info, but if you are using Windows Media Player >= 7.0 and a ASF file or so, then this is "correct" behaviour. WMP 6.0 allowed you to move around on ASF files, and it would take a couple of seconds to sync up, but the new version of WMP don't allow such functions.

There could also be other video types that won't allow skipping. MPEG, AVI are ones that DO allow for skipping.

ya its the newest media player.... so it wont allow this on PURPOSE? what the heck? why would they do something crazy like that?
