I am running my p4 1.6a on a asus p4b266-c with a pny geforce3 ti200 (Win2k). Currently I am at 144fsb, and 1.575vcore for 2.3Ghz. The max I can get on my video card is 228/490 which then posts a 3dmark2001 score at 7539 (stock vid card settings posted 6011). I tried to bump up the fsb to 150, and the fps in the first benchmark test was 1 to 2 (i forgot to look at the official results at the end)! I let the benchmark complete and the score to my surprise was 511.( i thought it would be lower).

Does anyone know why I can't get above 144fsb ? Also, I tried running my video card at stock speed and the same thing happens in 3dmark, so it isn't a result of vid card o/c'ing...

Anyone ?

thanks.

AGP bus overclocking, maybe? or maybe that is one of the boards where its locked at 66Mhz.

maybe its not the video, but something else, and the result is the video is bad.

i wonder if i changed it from 4x to 2x in the bios if that would make the card more stable with higher fsb speeds...

thoughts ? will this help, or make things worse ?

Go in your bios, then advanced chip configuration, then Optimization mode try Turbo1 or Turbo2.

I remember turning on Turbo1 and I can't remember if I left it on to test or if I had made multiple changes and changed it back thinking that was thr problem...I need to stop trying more than one change at a time.

Thanks, I will try that.
