tsunamis dont happen everyday, year, decade. As far as your average person is concerned. given any day on the beach. you would have thought that was just a big wave along with the whole initial shock value of kids and a car gettign swept away.

the whole dynamics of a tsunami is totally different than a normal wave (duh). they "appear" like a regular big wave. i mean having seen 10+ foot waves as well as being caught in a hurricane. they just break at your feet and dont plow miles inland like those little ones did.

The whole being oblivious to what the hell is going on and just standing there with a wall of water coming at you while still holding your handy dandy $400 video camera.... yes thats odd then again not really. If you look again it doesnt look like he couldnt move much or have anywhere to go. Not thinking that he/she should have really put the camera down.

OR you never know... he could have been wearing armored scuba gear and it was a helmet cam. Thats why the kids were swarming around him.
