I'm looking for a utility to test for the functionality of 'Transformation and Lighting' Does anyone know of a freeware utility to test for this?

I currently have a [Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller] installed in this PC and need to see if it has this functionality for playing the Indiana Jones and the Emperors's Tomb game.

the game requires "Hardware Transformation and Lighting".

Thanks,

Intel Extreme video does not support hardware T&L (transform and lighting)
Sorry to give you the bad news. Perhaps you can install an AGP or PCI video card
that does support these features??

I figured I had to get another card. Is there a utility to test for this functionality that I can run on other video cards?

Thanks,

While there are ways to test for this in software (by querying through DirectX or OpenGL function calls), I don't know of anyone who's actually written a utility to do so. Generally, any graphics card made in the last 2-3 years supports it, and it will be prominently listed as one of the card/chipset's features if it does.

Saw this:
3DMark2000 is still a popular benchmarks for evaluating 3D performance even though it is getting a bit dated. 3DMark2000 continues to provide benchmark results that gage DirectX7 performance and hardware transformation and lighting that older games still use. Version 1.1 ensures more reliable functionality with hardware and operating systems that were released after the launch of 3DMark2000 in December 1999. Higher numbers denote better performance

I have not run this benchie, so personally don't know about it. But you might look into for your purpose.
