Video stutters w/ X1900XT

Recently bought new mobo, vid card, PSU (specs below) and I turned Oblivion all the way up. While walking around outside or in towns ever couple secs the game sorta pauses for a fraction of a second...happens most noticably when "Loading Area..." appears on the screen. Tried at 16x12 and 1280x1024

Specs

Asus A8R32-MVP
Opteron 165
X1900XT (Built by ATi)
1GB Corsair 3200XL (2 x 512)
Enermax Liberty 500W

Have newest BIOS (0404), drivers, etc

My only idea is that its the RAM i.e. not enough...and the game is using the page file rather than actual RAM. Going to test COD and FEAR later on today

I'm under the impression that 4 x 512 is worse than 2 x 1024. Is that true or am I wrong?

Also, ctrl-alt-del during oblivion crashes it....it doesn't like it when attention is taken away i guess.

Run the game until it stutters then exit the game and check your peak useage. 🙂

Oh and 2GB is pretty standard for gaming now, no?
