Video studdering for odd reason

So when I play video using Windows media player or quicktime or Divx, the video will play fine but if I use WM and hover the mouse over the control buttons to move or pause video etc it will studder to a crawl... it picks up again when I move off that area...any ideas? I have the newest Geforce drivers as of last week..
