Video shuts offf and sound hangs...

I built the computer 2 years ago.

When I play CSS for about 10-40 mins straigt, the video shuts off and the sound hangs... I have to hold power down to get the rest of the computer to shut down.

When I opened the case I saw a short on my mobo where the case IEEE 1394 plugs in. I think this happened 2 or 3 months ago when I smelled something burning... I looked then but did not notice it. The computer runs fine when useing any application except CSS... I play other games and they work fine. I don't know if this short would affect CSS or if it is something else...

Thinking this was a video driver issue, I reinstalled the video drivers... I have also reinstalled CSS... though it hasn't done it since reistalling CSS. I only played like 20 mins since then so I can't say that this fixed the problem...

Any ideas? have you seen this?

Here are the basics...
AMD 754 3200+
Asus K8V SE Deluxe
BFG Nvidia 6800 GT OC 256
Corsair XMS 3200 2GB
Audigy 2ZS
HDD's are in Raid 0 with a third HDD for back-up of pictures etc...

Doubt it's a hardware problem. If it were all games I would guess overheating due to failed fans, but if it's only CS I would guess a software issue (recently update the game or drivers?)

Yea, recently updated the game and launched it while it was still updating on accident and it launched anyways... So I unistalled and reinstalled it, I can't say for sure if it is still doing it but I know it went for 20 - 30 mins without a problem. I think that might have been the problem.
